Mighty tree; little creature.
Painted on 14"x18" piece of canvas board in layers, using a very limited palette:
raw and burnt sienna, ochre, ultramarine, and a touch of black and alizarin. As with
most works with layered paint, it proved awfully difficult to photograph, and as usual,
the result does not make it a lot of justice because the optical effect of the paint is
mostly lost. Which is a major reason why I seldom use real paint: it is a hell to
reproduce, and illustrations are better off if done in something else.

final result.
